I just discovered Minted. Has everyone else already seen this site? Adorable custom stationery, invitations and announcements. Lots of quirky and vintage-y feeling designs.

Halloween Costumes on Etsy

It is time. The Halloween catalogs have started arriving at my house. My kids are changing their minds about “what they will be” for Halloween on a daily basis. And, unfortunately, every costume idea so far seems to be mass-produced crap. Can’t we find something better?

And off to Etsy, I went. Here are a few great kids’ costumes I found:

Bibs & Booties by bink & boo

Try that one three times fast – “Bibs & Booties by bink & boo. Bibs & Booties by bink & boo. Bibs & Booties by bink & boo.” I was lucky enough to be able to get my hands on these darling baby booties and bibs, handmade by Bianca out in southern California. Bianca was kind enough to send them to me to check out – unfortunately, I don’t have anyone small enough to actually use them anymore. Sigh. (And, yay! All at the same time…)

But if I did have a little punkin hanging around the house, these might be just the ticket. Made from vintage fabric and beautifully trimmed with rick-rack and chenille, bink & boo’s baby goods are fun and unique.

The booties are $27 – handmade, lined with a soft chenille, elastic fit but not too tight. I got to hang out with this rose and gingham pair but there are several other print options over at the bink & boo website right now. All finished nicely with contrasting rick-rack.

And this bib. As soon as I unpacked the bib, I smiled. The duck print is so clearly vintage and I just adore vintage fabrics. The back side of the bib is a substantial chenille and the whole thing clasps with a sturdy snap behind the neck. It is a useful size – not a little drool bib. These run $18 and come in several prints.

Little Life Toddler Daysacks

These toddler daypacks from Oompa.com are leeeetle and cute. While they won’t be very useful for an overnight at grandma’s, they’re just the right size for your little one to pack with airplane activities or some Thomas trains to take to a friend’s or even a drink and a snack for the playground.

Do you like the turtle, the bee or the ladybug best? I think the bee is my choice.

Kid-Proof Labels!

One of my favorite things in the world is my label maker. I’m quite probably the most disorganized label addict there is. Label-wearing folders and bins abound at my house. They are rarely filled. When the weather is cold and the holiday shopping traffic is fierce, you’ll wish you had these mittens for two to keep your tots in tow and in warmth. Or if you’re just talking a relaxing walk on a brisk winter afternoon, you’d like these babies too. And, of course, they’re super cute and make me wish that any of my four kids would cooperate in some hand-holding and walking with me. Maybe they would if they saw how awesome these mittens are.
